Great piece of WW2 history from the Pacific Theater.
This is a book of poetry written at Isley Field Saipan in 1945. The book was typed by the author and presented to Sgt. Weiner on May 1st 1945. The inscription reads Harry, Should the fate decide that my works shall never see printed line- you at least will have a small part of me in the humble attempt at greatness. Pat Sampson Marianas Islands 1 May 1945.The book has 7 or 8 poems total of 15 pages. ...This guy wrote some good poems. Have no Idea if he made it home or ever had anything published.
This item is from a collection of WW2 items brought back from the Pacific Theater by Sgt. H.L. Weiner who served with the 73rd Material Squadron 303rd. Air Service Group 20th. Air Force. Sgt. Weiner served on Saipan which is part of the Mariana Islands in the Pacific from 1944 to 1946.
