Here we have an exceptional example of a seldom seen ~ UNDERWOOD BLACK & GOLD PORTABLE TYPEWRITER ~ We could fine very little information about this exact model. Apparently they did not make many with the extra gold design and this one is near mint! It does not appear to have been used all that much at all, and is absolutely beautiful. It is without the nicest Vintage Underwood typewriter we have ever seen from this era. The serial number "659496" looks like it dates this typewrite...r to the year 1927. The over all condition as you can see is excellent with only very minor signs of wear from age and use. It appears to work just fine, but since we don't type, it may need some cleaning, oiling and or adjustments?. The case does show some wear and has a little damage to the fabric. We did not do a thing to this Vintage typewriter and this is exactly how it looked after being found in the back of a closet and opened for the first time in decades. If you collect unusual and hard to find Underwood typewriters this would make a fine addition to your collection.
