1950’s MA Cissy Doll Plus Summertime Gown Accessories. This is the first Cissy doll I ever bought which was over 20 years ago. I owned a Betsy Wetsy when I was small & a Barbie when they first came out plus an original GI Joe( more manly than Ken) but since I moved ever 1-3 years, & the first things to go were toys. My late friend Myra turned me on to dolls when I became a collector & Cissy’s were my favorite. The quality of the dolls, the excellence of her wardrobe won me over. No...w, not having any granddaughters & my own daughter wasn’t much of a doll girl, it’s time to reduce. This brunette Cissy has always worn a hairnet but I did discover while taking pics she has a long strand of hair underneath the net, making me believe that she probably had one of those clips maybe. I tucked it back into the net because I would probably ruin her hairdo trying to figure her original hair style. One arm is browner than the other, she should have worn sunscreen when she hung her arm out the passenger window. I see one small crack see pics. She is missing some eyelashes. All her joints move. The dress is beautiful, always my favorite. Called Summer gown, made in 1955. I’ve always kept this gown in a bag hung up so it is in great condition to me. It’s missing some snaps, little people don’t know how to get them open. I will include the snaps that arrived with this dress. The original flowers are sewn on but need additional sewing so they don’t droop. On the back of most of the flowers is either a hole or wear but the flowers cover them, they should, they caused the wear & tear. Cissy also has a full slip with a tear along top back seam, otherwise lovely slip. I’m assuming original with dress. Cissy also has undies & hose. Her gown will be in its bag so new owner can see doll first.
