Up for auction is a vintage Bucherer very rare Bucherer/Saba #1072 metal and composition Swiss doll depicting “Jimmie Dugan” the dark-haired mischievous boy from "Reg'Lar Fellers" the long-run newspaper comic strip created by the Gene Byrnes and syndicated from 1917 to 1949. Patented ball jointed body, made of aluminum, steel and brass, completely poseable thanks to its finely turned metal balls and sockets with flesh molded removable composition head, hands and shoed feet.... Flesh molded composition head with surprised intaglio eyes and black molded/painted hair and cap and black over sized shoes. Marked on the torso: “Made in // Switzerland // Patents // Applied For” . Made in Amriswil, Switzerland by Bucherer & Cie, circa 1927's. Dimensions: 6-¾ inches (17 cm) height.
As you can see he does have some condition issues. He's missing his original clothing. He has a chip on the bill of his hat and some specs of paint loss on his head and hat. He's also missing both thunbs on his hands. See pictures for overall condition.
