FDR ' S National Recovery Act (NRA) Stamps, Label, Logos, Etc. , On Eight Covers

Here is an unusual and topical group of eight covers bearing National Recovery Act (NRA) stamps, label, logos and more. One is registered and one NRA stamp of 1933, Scott 732, is tied by a NIRA, Iowa, postmark of that year. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's NRA is mentioned quite a bit these days because of the parallels with President Joe Biden's covid recovery proposals. Both have proved to be controversial.
One cover bears a color NRA Cinderella label, two have small printed ...logos, one has a larger handstamped color logo, two have a larger purple stamped logo (one is on the back), one has the NIRA handstamp postmark and the others have NRA stamps. They date from 1933-35. They have mainly small bumps, etc., from postal handling. The registered cover has some edge wear and one of the window envelopes has gum toning. Seven are small and one is a business-sized envelope.
The originating cities are NiRA and Centerville IA, Chicago IL, Boston MA, Minneapolis MN, Osborn MO, Saranac Lake NY and Wheeling WV. Firms represented are Hub Cycle and Radio Co. of Boston, L Gould and Co. of Chicago, Goodyear Glove Rubber Co. of Minneapolis, A Fortune and Co. of Saranac Lake NY, Sterling Products of Wheeling WV, Peoples Furniture of Centerville IA and the bank of Osborn, Osborn MO. The latter cover is the registered one and bears a good franking of five NRA stamps to pay the registry fee on a small 3-cent Washington postal stationery envelope. It has somewhat unusual Osborn MOB (money order branch) vermillion backstamps as well as a Saint Joseph MO registered backstamp. This cover has some edge wear.

The postage on this lot is higher than I would like, which is down to Royal Mail rates and other charges beyond my control such as eBay and PayPal commissions. I use good British stamps to send all my lots and these should result in collectable stamps cancelled by hand in my village post office for the buyer.As I have some fixed-price listings, anyone who makes a purchase might want to look at them before paying. If you buy more than one item, please wait for my invoice so I can combine postage. When payment is received by teatime British time (it is usually dished up about 4:30) I normally post the item the next morning -- as long as payment is made within three days.
