LOVELY VINTAGE Madame Alexander CISSY-FACE WENDY? BRIDE 19" ORIG BOX, w/History (Provenace), + EXTRAS 1956Flat feet, Over-sleeve arms, Bent-knee, Extra Dress +Coat/Hat/MuffWhen I first saw a photo of this doll, I thought she was a CISSY until I received her to sell & I discovered she had flat, not high-heeled feet. In 1956, the approximate year the owner remembers receiving her for Christmas, there is a #1890 "Wendy Bride" shown in the Alexander Catalog reprints with a Cissy-lookin...g face, in a white nylon tulle bride dress with a "Medici" cap & the description fits our doll. So, we have a bride which looks & feels like a Cissy & is every bit as breathtaking, but, because she has flat feet, has to be called a "Cissy-faced". I've told her to hold her head up & be proud she is so lovely & was saved so carefully these 65 years! She comes with 2 Grandmother-made extra outfits: a lace-trimmed blue/white checked taffeta street dress & a rust velveteen coat with mink collar/muff & matching hat. Doll in overall excellent condition--her original owner remembers VERY GENTLY playing with her (although I see no rips, tears or stains on the dress!). The head had come unstrung over the years & a few lashes were missing on her right eye--I restrung the head and added a few lashes (hard to see). Box shows some wear, especially the lid. Extra clothing also in excellent condition. Back of hair is flattened due to laying on her back.Please look at all the photos as they are part of the Condition Report.I'm happy to combine shipping whenever possible.
