A beautiful high quality solid silver snuff or pill box. It is hallmarked with the German crescent moon and crown statesymbols followed by the 800 standard mark and the makers mark of Simon Rosenau, I would date it toc1900. It has been superbly made being of love heart form with a cherub decorated lid. It is in super conditionbeing free from dings splits holes and repairs. The hinge is strong and the lidcloses tightly. It measures 1.5 inches (4cms) across by over 1cm tall and weighs 19... grams. A very high quality beautiful piece.
