This is quite a find! This a Painted eye, pre-Ginny Bunky from the 1949 Brother/Sister Series. She has an original light brown mohair wig in flip with bangs. It is still full and retains a lot of its curl. She has beautiful side glancing painted blue eyes and a very pretty face, typical of 1949. She has a great body of even tone hard plastic, and is marked appropriately on her back. Her stringing is good and she poses easily. This doll was issued in a variety of colored outfits. She's ...wearing a minty yellow version of the outfit with no damage. It consists of a striped knit sweater that retains its original hook and eye closure, a yellow knit skirt with attached yellow shorts retaining its original wavy external vogue tag indicating the year, matching striped socks with blue greek key center snap shoes, and a yellow knit beanie matching the skirt trimmed with felt flowers at the crown. Outfit is unwashed and soft, rare for these outfits. I see a spot on the front of the skirt which may come out if cleaned, but when they’ve not been cleaned, whether or not to clean is a question I wrestle with. This time I chose not too. She is a real beauty!
