For your consideration is a nice vintage, Hand Carved Soap Stone Statue! Very Rare! Old Chinese Wise Man Hand Carved Soap Stone Statue. Vintage Carving of Chinese Wise Man Shou Lao God of Longevity! Shou Lao was the god of Longevity. One of 3 gods. Fu, Lu, Shou. The Sanxing, who are Fu, Lu, and Shou, or Cai, Zi and Shou, are the gods of the three stars and the three qualities of Prosperity, Status, and Longevity in Chinese religion. These icons are though...t to date back to the Ming dynasty, when the gods of the three stars were represented in human form for the first time. They are sometimes identified with other deities of the Chinese religion or of Taoism. Approximate 5". Very well cared for. No chips, cracks or shelf scuffing.
