Vintage Tinplate Battery Op Show Boat Wt Whistle & Smoke, Modern Toys, Japan. EXiBA lovely vintage tinplate battery operated Show Boat with Whistle & Smoke Mississippi Paddle Steamer, with white bodywith red, yellow and black detailing, blue windows and seadetail on hull and black plastic funnels. It comes in the original box and was made in Japan by the Modern Toys (M-T) Co. probably in the 1960's.A great action battery toy powered by three “D” batteries, the steamer features a m...ystery action with realistic whistling sound and smoke coming from the 2 funnels.Measuring an impressive 13 inches long by 4.5 wide and 8 inches tall (inc funnels), this is a great toy in excellentworking condition. It even still smokes really well, althoughmore smoke comes from one funnel than the other. The tinplate body has great detail of the cabin windows, passengers and lifeboats, and is in great condition and the battery box is in lovely clean condition with no rust.
