This is for a super little Victorian miniature English dictionary in its original sterling silver Sampson Mordan fob case. It waspublished by Bryce in Glasgow around 1897 and it states inside to be 'The Smallest English Dictionary in the World'. It is bound in burgundy Morocco leather and the cover on the back is advertising Pears soap. It is a full dictionary in miniature and the silver case has a powerful magnifying glass built into the lid which you will need to read ...it. The silver case is hinged at the lid so it slides open and the silver carries a full set of hallmarks dating it to London 1882 along with the makers initials SM&Co for Sampson Mordan & Co. The case isin fabulous condition with no damage or dents, the glass is crisp and has no cracks. The book is in very good condition with no damage just very light wear and it has 384pages. The book measures a tiny 27mm x 20mm and is just 8mm deep. The case has a large suspension loop for hanging to a chain.
