RARE Early Antique Prussian Cavalry Hussar Steel Sword Circa 1800 Napoleonic. Condition is Used. Honest wear and period battle damage. Blade retains a good amount of blueing underneath light surface rust. Common on swords from this period kept in humidity. This example is a nice honest example that was used in service during the Napoleonic period. Solingen maker mark on the blades spine. Blade decorated with Trumpets, flags, etc.Curved blade with wide, shallow fuller on eac...h side. Both sides engraved with floral motifs and arms. Steel stirrup hilt with languettes. Leather wrapped grip decorated with strands of twisted brass wire.CONDITION: Fair; blade retains a heavy brown patina with traces of gilt in engraved designs. Blade is bent about 2" forward of ricasso. One languette is replaced on the reverse. Hilt retains a dark, heavy patina. Grips shows some losses to wrap. Pommel cap has one crack and a small area of loss. Scabbard retains a matching dark, heavy patina with some corrosion. Honest wear from being used during a Campaign.
