This ushabti is over 2, 500 years old.
The ushabti is 61mm in height (2.4 inches) and is a colour changeling, having once been turquoise, but the glaze having oxidised over the millenia, until it has become ochre-brown. There are faint traces of an intermediate shade of green on the back.
Whilst this item may not be as pretty as many of the low-priced examples of ushabtiu (the correct plural) to be found on eBay, it is AUTHENTIC, which the overwhelming majority of the others are not! If you are looking to start a collection of GENUINE ancient Egyptian artefacts, this is your starting point.
