Description
SIZE: pottery lamp is 21” tall x 6” wide, with wood, shaft & parts about 33” tall
in Excellent condition *** this has a tiny, tiny glaze only flea bite on the top rim. Could easily be colored in with maybe some shoe polish. It’s tiny *** on the top of the pottery, the round flat area that is under the wood has glaze bubbles where the glaze is missing. A few show when the wood top piece is in place. I’m pretty sure originally made this way as there were no chip pieces *** the top piece of wood has a partial paper label on the bottom, MADE IN ITALY *** the bottom wood piece has some small cracks and some tiny chips * these wood pieces probably had a tung oil or linseed oil, rub on finish. There was no like varnish layer residue. These are dry. I took some 600 sandpaper and lightly sanded them to a smoothness. It’s up to you as to what you want. They could just be waxed or a new tung oil finish applied or even a varnish *** This has all it’s metal parts not counting the socket & harp. I have taken a photo of how they, pretty basic & easy, go together and will send to the buyer. It’s missing the socket, wiring, the lampshade harp, lampshade and bottom felt material.
Long/short, this will be sent disassembled and need to be rewired and such. It’s much easier for me to ship and you can choose what type of socket, wiring, switch & lampshade *** the pottery weighs 10 1/2 lbs., parts 2 lbs. with packaging = 17 lbs.
These lamps came in a wide variety of color schemes, muted with a brownish wash. This particular one is brightish on one half side and darkish on the other half. Even the top brass pipe piece has been treated to be darker / lighter. The really nice thing about this lamp is the top area of the pottery has a really nice bright lemon yellow green color glaze, partial ring on the bright side. I.e. the top has a very nice look.
