Certainly the losses are not unacceptable and this is a fine quality example.Ref No.MI101226We are delighted to offer this superb antique Napoleonic prisoner of war straw work case, possibly for cigars dating from around 1800. The case is decorated with panels to two sides, one with buildings picked out in various coloured straw work while the opposite side is decorated with an elaborate pagoda set between two large trees. The case slides open to reveal an inner compartment and is lined with marbled paper. A very fine example for the discerning collector!
