Offering a 1950's RCA MI-12004 (KN-18) "Announce" Microphone. This fine mic was geared towards public address, as well as voice and music applications. The physical condition of this mic is near mint with zero marks of any kind and very well could never have been used. The previous owner said this mic spent most of it's life in storage. It's original RCA two-tone paint scheme and red RCA logo badges on each side of the casing...has been voice tested producing good full-f...idelity output from the original RCA pickup. (Nice low-end response!) Also includes the extra attachment (handle) that is fixed to the base of the mic which hides the cable connector with access through a hinged access panel, and is able to be threaded onto any standard mic stand. (The heavy iron base is included.) The front chromed grill looks perfect and retains all of it's original luster. Comes with the original 20' connecting cable terminating with a 3 pin male XLR plug. **Always safe packaging and fast shipping.
The unique aspect of this mic is the pickup element...a thin wire suspended between fixed magnets, (unique to RCA) very similar to the sound and working principles of a ribbon element. The mic is shock mounted between the head and the riser, and the mic head can be tilted to maximize sound capture.
