The volume has been rebacked with the contemporary panelled calf boards retained. It measures approx. 35.6cm x 24cm x 4.5cm. The boards are surface worn, and the extremities are worn, bumped, chipped and frayed, see images. The hinges are a little rubbed and nick...ed to the top and bottom corners. Internally, the hinges have been strengthened. Lacking front free endpaper. There is a previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown (Wadham Wyndham Esq), and there are 4 small ink stamps of initials surrounding the plate. As can be seen from the images, the title page is heavily creases and worn, has a small nick to the top fore edge corner, a small repaired tear to the bottom edge, and has been repaired and rebound to inner edge. The first couple of leaves have also been reinforced to inner edge, tightly. The rear free endpaper has a heavy crease, and the 2 leaves of subscribers are also heavily creased, worn a bit frayed in places and have some pencil notes. Lacking fold map. The contents have some creasing in places. Two plates have a small hole to image, one a chip/tear to fore edge margin, one has a neat repair to fore edge, see images, and there are a few scattered small edge nicks, tears or small holes to margins in places throughout. One single page plate has been trimmed to fore and bottom edges, not affecting image. There is some light browning to some of the single leaf plates, and a little light foxing in places. There are a few scattered little rust spots or marks, and there is some light creasing in places. Else reasonable condition on the whole.
There is an engraved vignette to title page, and 37 engraved plates (including 25 double page). With the 4 page "Proposalls" and list of subscribers.
