Original Description:
Being offered is a nice old antique African axe most probably from the late 19th century.  This axe measures 15” tall and the axe head is 5 3/4” long and 1 3/4” at its widest point.  This axe features a lovely patina, the wood having that lovely reddish brown tint.  The axe top has a bunch of inlaid brass tacks.  The brass with lovely patina.  Looks like it had more tacks at one time as some are missing.  The blade has a thick forte and then flattens... out to a semi circle shaped tip.  There are some chiseled designs on the blade and forte.  The shaft has a bunch of brass bands.  Some are loose and one or two are missing.  All in all, a very lovely African axe.  Please e-mail with any questions.  Please view my other auctions for a great variety of swords, daggers and tribal art.
