It is done in the style of Sevres.
It is oval in shape, measuring 8" across the longest part, and 5-3/4" across the widest part. It stands 3-5/8" in height to the top of the lid when it is in the closed position.
The box has an overall dark cobalt blue color with raised gold enamel scrolling. The lid has a beautiful romantic scene of a courting couple, with a lamb and puppy dog looking on. The sides of the box are decorated with land and waterscape scenes on all sides, surrounded with gold borders. The inside of the box is decorated with pink roses. The metal mounting has an ornate ormolu design of floral garlands.
The only condition issue to mention is a small chip to the lid near the hinge, with an associated hairline. I have included photos of both outside and inside of the lid. Otherwise, the condition is very good considering the age of the box.
