23 " Antique Stockinette Cloth Martha Chase Pawtucket Baby Doll With Stamp

DESCRIPTION:This listing is for an antique Martha Chase doll with Stockinette head & limbs, 1889+. Doll retains stamp under the arm, see photos. This doll was painted with oils, has painted blue eyes with white accent dot to the side of each pupil, painted eye lashes, pierced nostrils and molded mouth. Blonde brush stroked hair rough for texture. Doll is jointed at the shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Measures approx. 23" tall and weighs about 5 pounds. Some overall w...ear and "line crazing" line cracks throughout (mostly under chin), but together. I do not know the past restoration history, possibly paint touch ups. There is a hand written number on the back of neck in red, I am guessing an inventory number. Wears gorgeous antique gown with button down the back, slip and bib. Wears blue knit sweater, bonnet and booties. This doll would be a Treasure for collection or display! Doll stand and chair display only and not included.
