This is an attractive and original Hanhart pilot watch wornby Luftwaffe pilots in WW2. Highly collectible chronograph with flybackfunction and very hard to find in original, unmolested condition. This watchhas everything and only such watches are true investments. Details below:
Movement: legendary cal. 41, double pusher chronograph withflyback complication. Beautiful clean movement. Service history unknown. Serialnumber on movement 1153xx dates to ca. spring 1943 production.
Cas...e: huge 40mm size, brass with very attractive and evenpatina on case, original pushers, crown and rotating bezel; great eye-appeal.Fixed 20mm bars. Screw-in caseback is steel. The serial number was polishedaway by the original owner who wanted to hide his identity after the war. Thisis not uncommon for German military watches.
Dial & hands: beautiful black dial with original radiumlume on hour markers. Skeleton cathedral hands in superb condition withlume probably refreshed at some point in the past. Beautiful contrast with thedial. Correct & original subdial hands and chronograph seconds hand.
Crystal: original thick crystal; it’s rare to find thesewatches still fitted with the original crystal; minor surface scratches/scuffs.
Strap: original wartime aviator leather strap; steelbuckle, correct style for 1940s. These watches came with riveted straps fromthe factory but they had to be replaced eventually.
