We allow pick up for a limited range of larger of more fragile items, usually as well as the postal option. We allow collection of this item from our Hawthorn East (Melbourne) location within 10 days of auction end, cash on pick up welcome.A nice example of a flat back mandolin, appearing in good vintage condition with a few minor detraction's as noted below. I see no makers marks, inside or out (no paper label inside) The lute carries surface scuffing wear apparently from playing giv...en the concentration of scuffing wear around the sound hole? Other damage includes a split down the grain to the backing board about 11.5cm. Some edge lifting of this backing board from the curved sides along each side. I note one of the metal frets is also missing from the fret board. Otherwise appears in sound condition with no warping of neck, nice retention of pearl shell inlay to the scratch plate, item complete (whilst needs four more strings) Just the wear as mentioned above.The lute measures 60.5cm Width across the body 21cm. Weight 510 Grams approx. Comes in an original hard case in fair shape, one clip broken and worn corner but great to have the hard case for safe transport.Weight in case 1.5 Kilos.
