Vintage Madame Alexander 9" Cissette Doll Bride Original outfit & accessories (replaced shoes) Hard plastic, circa early 1960s
What is the month of June without a bride (doll)? Perhaps one of the loveliest of the time, both in quality of manufacturing & in design & construction of costuming, is this diminutive example made by the Madame Alexander Doll Co. of Brooklyn, New York. Her strawberry blonde hair is in the original set, her cheeks retain a so...ft pinkish coloration and her blue eyes sleep (with a little coaxing--tending to stick, a problem with many hard plastic dolls). Her jointing works, including the knees.
A white tulle over satin dress, slip & panties; fabric flower hair coronet & bouquet; tulle veil, "pearl" earrings, nylons & garter are all original to her. The fabric--having aged somewhat, shows light overall soiling, but I find no stains or holes. Shoes are replacement old white satin slippers that have at some point lost their heels & the elastic on the underskirt & garter has stretched out (the texture of the hose does help keep the garter from falling down).
