This classic vintage Steuben Solid Crystal Apple Paperweightis 4 inches high, about 3 ¼ inches wide, and weighsmore than 2 pounds. It is signed in script “Steuben” on the underside and also has a five-point star patternon the underside. The Apple is in pristine condition with absolutely no chips, cracks, scratches, or any other signs of wear and no visible flaws. Included arethe original gray box imprinted with “Steuben”, the original dust bag alsoimprinted with “Steuben...”, an “About Steuben” Brochure, and a “How To Care For Steuben”pamphlet, all of which are in like new condition.
The Apple (#7874) is highlighted in Steuben’s 1997 annualcatalog (and perhaps others). It was designed by Angus McDougall in 1940 and hasproved to be a very popular item as the well-known symbol of New York Cityand also due to its link to the teaching profession.
