Signed Japanese Ando Orange Gradated Cloisonne Shippo High Relief 3D Dragon Vase.Found at an estate sale, appears to be enamel on copper with a silver rim! What is unique is the very high relief of the Dragon. There is approximately a 2” crack as shown, but it is hard to see and does it affect the beauty of the vase. The bottom is signed, but I cannot read the signature. The vase goes from vibrant orange at the top to pale peach at the bottom as it is gradated in color. I believe thi...s to be a unique and rare piece! Meaning it was made by Shuzo himself and not by someone else in his studio. Your piece is rare because the body looks like he hammered the dragon shape directly into the vase body. Another 3D technique typically used is moriage. But that is done using successive layers of enamel to “pile up” the shape.
