Here we have a very, very scarce coffee cup and saucer set "designed by Vernon Kilns" and produced by the Vernon Ware division of Metlox. The shape is Ultra California, with the "upside down" handles, designed by Gale Turnbull and used for Vernon Kilns' most popular patterns of the 1930s, including Salamina and Lei Lani. Metlox brought Ultra California back into production after purchasing the molds when Vernon Kilns closed in 1958. The Metlox Vernon Ware division used the shape f...or several different patterns, one of which was Bellflower, with its stylized, modern flower print in various colors (see our other listings for the same set in two other colors.) Vintage: sometime between 1958 (when Vernon Kilns closed) and 1989 (when Metlox closed)Condition: Our photos show the condition best and are the most important part of the description.
