Here we have a very, very scarce coffee cup and saucer set "designed by Vernon Kilns" and "produced by the Vernon Ware division of Metlox." The shape is Ultra California, with the "upside down" handles, designed by Gale Turnbull and used for Vernon Kilns' most popular patterns of the 1930s, including Salamina and Lei Lani. Metlox brought Ultra California back into production after purchasing the molds when Vernon Kilns closed in 1958. The Metlox Vernon Ware division used the shape for ...several different patterns, one of which was Colleen, with its stylized, modern flower print in jade green with the same rose and sunny yellow floral colors found on two other cup/saucer sets we're currently offering. We have dozens of rare Vernon Kilns dinnerware that we will be listing over the next few weeks, and we're happy to combine pieces at actual shipping cost. Vintage: sometime between 1958 (when Vernon Kilns closed) and 1989 (when Metlox closed)Condition: Our photos show the condition best and are the most important part of the description. Please zoom in on all of them, and ask questions. This set is in near-mint to mint condition with no signs of use. No scratches, utensil marks, stains, cracks, chips or crazing. Beautiful vivid colors.Non-smoking environment, and we'll let you know if any of our vintage items smell like it (or anything else) from activities they may have been involved in before we found them.
