Amp works fine, no known issues it sounds sweet and musical and has muscle to drive most speakers. The wood case is in poor shape, but this amp is solid and working 100%, the face plate is in very good condition (see pics) all controls work and are smooth also the FL meter is bright! In my opinion this amp just needs a good wood case to double its worth! Im selling this amp as is, no returns, its 30+ years old and it works perfectly however it is like all vintage amps and it is what it... is, old but functioning 100% with no current issues, priced to sell for someone who knows how darn good these 9800 amps sound, the preamp section has mm/mc with fine tuning of load and gain knobs to have your turntable cartridge dialed in no time, (note) the spec1 dont have that! In my opinion this preamp is a step up from the spec1 also you can pull the U pins out and run this as a preamp only, or use another preamp and use this as a amp only. via Preamp out/amp in connections on back of unit. Please look at my other items for sale i got some good older gear including a spec 4 amp too. Do not have original box or manual, however you can download manual from internet as i did, will double box and bomb proof it will require a signature at delivery and will be insured.
