Up for auction is a fully restored Pioneer CT-F1250 stereo cassette deck. This was the top of the line for Pioneer back in the late 70's and early 80's. The cosmetics are excellent with no outwardly flaws or dents and dings. The newly powder coated metal cover has a few bumps where there must have been dust but it's not eye distracting. Inside there's a new belt kit and idler installed as well as 167 new upgraded electrolytic capacitors. There's a few purists who poo-poo this practice ...but until you've pulled a few of the caps (which are 40 years old) and measure them with an Atlas meter you'll appreciate the extra effort. You just can't have 40 year old caps that you expect to perform as new..............it ain't gonna happen. The deck has been calibrated with Maxell UR standard tape, TDK SA-X hi-bias tape, and Denon HD-M metal tape. You can also dial in exact bias and EQ settings for whatever tape you're using at the time (just read the manual first). Auction includes a spiral bound reproduction of the color brochure, owner's and service manuals. Deck performs exactly as you would expect and there's no tape skew issues or loss of high frequencies..................if anything the tape sounds very bright. If you want the next best thing to a Nakamichi Dragon then this deck will fit the bill. Please check my feedback and bid with confidence (disregard the recent rantings from a road raging eBay troll.............he just won't go away). I ship the same day or next and pack well for transit. If you keep the pinch roller and heads clean and demagnetized then this deck will probably outlive us both.
