VINTAGE 1959 1 PONYTAIL BARBIE DOLL BODY BY MATTEL
Item History & Price
Please be sure to check out my other doll listings. Thank you! :)This is a vintage 1959 #1 Ponytail Barbie Doll Body by Mattel. The body is in excellent condition for a 60-year-old toy. I am not the original owner, so I do not know the history of this body. It is a solid body that is appropriately marked Barbie TM, Pats. Pend., (c)MCMLVIII, by Mattel Inc. on the right side of the rear, and it has that wonderful crayon smell. The neck knob is... intact, and the arms and legs are tight and pose very well. All of the fingers and toes are intact, but some of the paint is missing due to age and play. The are some minor discolorations, spots, mold marks, and other minor flaws on the arms, legs, and torso (see photos), but I do not see anything that I would consider a major flaw. All of these defects are considered normal age-related conditions for a doll body this old. The copper tubing is present in both feet. Overall, this is a lovely #1 Barbie body.
