The beautiful silver Teac Auto Reversing (play and record) X-2000r Deck. I bought this as a project and decided to move so some projects must be sold off! Playback on this deck is excellent in 7.5 or 3.75 IPS modes. Both channels clear and strong. All functions work as they should. The only problem with this deck is that when you record, the quality of the recording isn't great. I have heard these decks record and when they do, it is incredible sounding. A ne...ar perfect match of the source. This one will not do that. I imagine the heads need aligned or it needs a recap. The heads condition look great and it doesn't appear it had much use when it was used prior to me. It comes with just the deck itself, no accessories will be included.
I Cleaned the heads, capstans and tape guide. I also demagnetized all six heads. Somebody that has experience working on these will get a great deck that needs some work to be perfect. The service that was done two years ago was a full belts change, cleaning of the inside and lubricating all moving parts that need it. Also, the lights on the meters were replaced. There is a small scratch mark flaw on the tape head cover as seen in picture 6.
I will ship with UPS or take $50 off if you want to come pick it up. I live in Strongsville Ohio. As with most vintage electronics, no returns or refunds. I have described exactly what the machine will and wont do. If you want a perfect deck, those typically go for $2, 200!
I have it's twin in black with wood sides available for sale also, it has more problems though. See my other auction.
