NY. 1930, b/w plates, xxxi, 822pp. First trade edition of Moby with the Rockwell Kent illustrations, and one of the icons of trade publishing. Random House, in its elation over securing the rights to Kent’s masterpiece, forgot to put his name on the dust-jacket or cloth binding. A great interpretation of a... great book, and a great copy to book. The book is in Fine condition and the jacket is VG-Fine, with only a trace of darkening on the spine and two miniscule nicks at the corners. Housed in a custom made slipcase.
