This Listing is of an SDrive-MAX with a 3D printed case together with 16GB SD Kingston card and a power supply.
This SDrive-MAX are built with the latest V.4 of SIO breakout board so it can be used in a SIO chain with other devices at the same time, so you can use it together for example with an Atari 1050 disk drive to transfer disks images between the 2 devices.
This sdrive-max can be configured via an internal jumper to either be powered by the computer itself or use the inclu...ded power supply as a power source.
Tests shows that on the original 400/800 series the drive need the external power supply to work properly, on the other lines like the XL and XE series it is suggested to use also external power for the SDrive-MAX.For the XE line series that I have studied the schematics, the 5V power to SIO port comes directly from the Atari Power Supply so if you have a newer power supply with more than 1.5Amps on your Atari XE you can configure the SDrive-MAX to be powered directly from the computer and don't use the included power supply with this device.
Even though I include a power supply, you will need a common USB Type-A to Type-B cable if you want to use it that I don't include to keep the weight below 200gr and shipping costs almost 5e lower.
If you want the SDrive-MAX preconfigured to be powered directly from the Computer, just write me a message when you place your order, otherwise I will have it configured for external power but I will include a jumper incase you want to change the configuration later.
The Case is a design I made to incorporate a holder for the stylus also there is a cut out in the lower part of the touch screen LCD to expose a Reset button so you don't need to power cycle the device, you can just press the button with the included stylus, and to be more XE design friendly ;)
In the package it will be included :-SDrive-MAX with latest (at the time of post) V1.1 firmware assembled with SIO breakout board and touch LCD-16GB Kingston SD card with few games to test and prepared with the correct sdrive.atr image so it can boot directly to a selector-Stylus-Power supply (will need a common USB type-A to type-B cable)-Jumper (when it is configured to use external power)-Instructions for basic usage for the SDrive-MAX
