“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense.”– Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
Lewis Carroll’s landmark masterpiece, ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, ’ was first published in 1865. This fascinating fantasy tale of a young girl falling down a rabbit hole, is surely one of the most iconic pieces of literature for all time. It has been... adapted into many different versions of film, most notably by Disney in 1951.
In 1907, the original copyright of ‘Alice’ expired and was able to be reprinted and re-illustrated. That same year, Arthur Rackham illustrated 13 original color drawings which were included in this undated first edition. While these illustrations are different in form and style than that of Tenniel, they are no less desirable. This first printing meets all expected edition points (see below).
