FRENCH PATHE "REVERSIBLE" PHONOGRAPH
An exceptional example of an early 1900's French Pathe cylinder phonograph. This is called a "Reversible" because the mechanism can be reversed upside-down and stored compactly in the walnut cabinet, resulting in a 9" x 13" x 6" high package.
The walnut case has the original Pathe decal on front and is without the usual worm holes normally found in these old European phonographs.
Fitted with an original Path...e reproducer, which attaches directly to the original horn, and it "floats" atop the cylinder while traversing it during play.
This is capable of playing standard 2" cylinders and by adding the larger, slip-on mandrel over the smaller one, the "intermediate" size Pathe cylinders can also be played.
The horn is aluminum and 100% original. It measures a large 16" x 16".
