It was the town of Nisa, in the district of Portalegre, which saw the birth of Jaime Correia de Inso, on October 12, 1880. Upon reaching the age of majority, he settled in the regiment of Infantry 22 in the district capital and, the body of students of the Navy. He was promoted to a marine guard in 1903 and, three years later, the second lieutenant. Throughout his career he also ascended to the position of captain-lieutenant and captain-of-frigate, position in which he went to the reserve in 1938.In Macao, where he devoted practically all his literary work, he served in the Macau Naval Station and also in the Colonial Navy of Macao, and commanded the "Pátria" canoeira between 1926 and 1929, when it was in service in the Sea from China. During the period in which he was on a commission of service in the Far East he maintained a collaboration with the weekly newspaper of Macau "The Homeland". In Portugal, his contributions to the press were extended to the newspaper "Diário de Notícias".
In 1932 and 1933 Jaime do Inso published in two editions of author, respectively, "The Way of the East" and "Visions of China". On the first, the Count of Penha Garcia, who signs the preface of the work, writes that "the author knows this wonderful way well, he elaborated through a simple storyline a series of life-like travel descriptions that end with a small drama sentimental experience in Macau. "Meanwhile, his second book brings together works scattered in newspapers in Brazil, Portugal and Macau.
Throughout his military career he had at his command the Naval Artillery Practical School and served in the Atlantic-South Naval Directorate, in the Marine Corps, in the Majoria General of the Navy, in the Intendance of the Arsenal and in the Naval Staff, still served as an ombudsman in the Navy Tribunal. At the end of his career he was in charge of the direction of the Library and the Museum of the Navy, to which he bequeathed some of his objects and a photographic collection.Jaime Correia de Inso died in Lisbon.
