This is a beautiful screen. The front is handpainted with bamboo, flowers, and butterflies. I am not sure of its place of origin, but similar screens listed were attributed to Chinese silk byōbu. The front is in good condition, for its age. It does have some small discolored spots on the front fabric as shown in photos. I see no holes or tears in the fabric. The black wood trim is in good shape on the front. There are decorative brass? pieces on the corners and at spots along the ...edges. These look to be in very good condition. On the back, the black wood trim has small holes drilled all along the perimeter. I think these were possibly for hanging the screen on the wall. The fabric on the back has some staining that looks to be hand smudging and there is about a 1 inch dent in the inner material of the back (wood?) under the fabric. It is not very visible, but you can feel it if you run your hand over the fabric. I have done my best to describe the condition of this item. Please see all photos and message me, before buying, if you would like more information. The screen measures approximately 34.5 inches tall x 60 inches wide x .66 inches thick when opened fully. It is approximately 34.5 inches tall x 15 inches wide x 3 inches thick when completely folded. It weighs about 12.5 pounds.
