This is an antique late 19th century oil on board of a lake and mountain scene. It could be in its original frame.
The frame probably dates circa 1880s or 1890s, and I believe the painting is from around that time also.
The overall frame measures 21 3/4 inches high x 25 7/8 inches wide (55.2 cm x 65.7 cm). The painting and back opening of the frame measure 16 inches x 20 inches (40.6 cm x 50.8 cm). The molding width measures 3 inches (7.6 cm).
The painting has some scratches t...o it in the top left corner, on the mountain, and in the trees. There is a small piece of paint chipped off around the center of the lake. It has some other light, general wear to it, but overall is in good condition.
The frame is made of wood with applied decorative composition. There are a number of scattered areas where this composition has chipped off. The oak part of the frame has scratches, chips, scuff marks, and quite a bit of wear to it. This is most notable on the right side when staring at it.
Overall, it’s a wonderful looking piece, as the frame and painting complement each other beautifully.
