Original cloth hardback in original laminated dustwrapper. The dustwrapper is not price-clipped, showing the original 25s price to the inside front flap. It is in attractive condition with ...very light wear to the edges (see pictures). The book itself is in very attractive condition, with light bumping to the edges (see picture). Binding sound and square. Internally clean and bright. A very nice example. Phil Irving (1903-1992) was an Australian engineer and author. He was the Chief Engineer at Vincent and was responsible for a number of outstanding models, the Rapides and the equally famous variants, the Black Lightening and Black Shadow. In 1963 he was approached by Jack Brabham to design a new, simple, lightweight engine for the upcoming changes in engine specifications due for 1966.
