This is an original and exceptionally rare 1858 West Point Cadet Register, while George Armstrong Custer was a cadet. Custer was famous for finishing last in his class in 1861, and for the "disaster" at Little Big Horn, in 1876. Custer entered the academy under the recommendation of John Bingham in 1857, and graduated in 1861 at the outbreak of the Civil War. Custer halted a cavalry attack behind the lines of Gettysburg in 1863, but is most famously remembered for the Little Big Horn d...isaster. This is an amazing piece, not easy to come by.
