Four-page brochure, 10 inches high by 6-1/4 inches wide, advertising showings at the Music Hall in Edinburgh, Scotland of Major A. Radclyffe Dugmore's film "The Wonderland of Big Game". Illustrated with 5 reproductions of photographs by Dugmore, including an aggressive-looking rhinoceros,... a lion photographed by flashlight from 12 yards away and a giraffe with its legs splayed wide as it drinks from a water-hole. Near fine.
The text includes notes on the animals shown in the illustrations and quotes from reviews of the film. The film, to be "presented and personally described" by Dugmore is described as "Studies of the Life of the Wild by a Lover of Animals, for Lovers of Animals. The Hunting was by Camera Only". It is noted "There was no killing or wounding in these films".
The big game photographer and author Major Arthur Radclyffe Dugmore [1870-1955] was also an artist, illustrating some of his books and producing a series of prints of wildlife. He traveled extensively photographing and filming animals throughout the world and particularly in Africa. He was the author of "The Wonderland of Big Game", "The Romance of the Beaver", "Camera Adventures in the African Wilds", and "The Romance of the Newfoundland Caribou", among others. He was the subject of a 1931 Lowell Thomas biography "Rolling Stone: The Life and Adventures of Arthur Radclyffe Dugmore".
