I have here for sale a book entitled THE HISTORY of the OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT by ROYAUMONT. There are 200 plates and a map in this book all numbered and with dedications to prominent people of the day. Engravers and artists include Kip, Van der Gucht, Van Hove, Bouche, . Published in 1699 and the author is Royaumont. This book contains much of the Old Testament and all of the New Testament, and also An Appendix in Two Parts the first An Abridgement of the Lives of the Apostles, the Sec...ond An Historical Chronology. The title page for the New Testament reads, The History of the New Testament being an historical account of the incarnation, nativity, life, actions, death and passion, resurrection and ascension of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ illustrated with Sculptures aptly and accurately Delineated and Engraven by Skilful artists, for the better and more lively Representation thereof. Printed in the year 1699.Plates 1-22 are missing. 23-24 are damaged, plates 25-34 are good, 35 is torn, 36-37 are good, 40-234 are mainly good with a couple of rips and tears here and there, Map entitled The Forty Yeares travels of the children of Israel out of Egypt through the Red Sea, and ye Wilderness into Canaan or the Land of Promise backed with thick paper.Missing the title page and the first 34 pages so it starts with page 35 and goes through to page 208. Followed by The History of the New Testament up to page 293. Followed by An Appendix going up to page 422. Missing some pages at the end. So this book is in poor binding and is not complete - but on the upside it contains over 200 seventeenth century plates and a seventeenth century map!
