Vintage tools - sharpening stone #58
Up for sale is a genuine & authentic vintage SCOTTISH TAM O SHANTER & DALMORE BLUE SHARPENING STONE in its original box. The stone is 102mm \ 4” long, 51mm \ 2” wide & 28mm \ 1” thick, an older stone, these are not commercially available any more. Great for chisels, plane blades, knives & your straight razors, its a finishing stone & it puts a superlative edge on tools, these are water... stones & work best with water or thin oil, the Tam is fine & the Dalmore Blue side is medium. As it states on the label “For Carpenters & Joiners”.

CONDITIONThis sharpening stone is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age and use, a previous owner has used this stone with oil & marked the stone each end, a genuine natural Tam O Shanter & Dalmore Blue stone, its silky smooth & a lovely stone, it sports its original label to the stone, Tam’s are often called snake stones because of the spotted pattern to the stone & the Dalmore Blue has a swirly wave pattern.
