Vintage tools - sharpening stone #53
Up for sale is a genuine & authentic vintage SCOTTISH TAM O SHANTER & WATER O AYR SHARPENING STONE in its part original box. The stone is 125mm \ 5” long, 51mm \ 2” wide & 25mm \ 1” thick, an older stone, these are not commercially available any more. Great for chisels, plane blades, knives & your straight razors, its a finishing stone & it puts a superlative edge on tools, these are w...ater stones & work best with water, the Tam is fine & the WOA side is ultra fine, I personally use the same combination stone for my razors & I rate the WOA as good as any Thuringian stone. As it states on the label “For Razors, Scalpels or Very Fine Knives”.

CONDITIONThis sharpening stone is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age and use, a genuine natural Tam O Shanter & Water O Ayr stone, its silky smooth & a magnificent stone, it sports its original label to the stone, Tam’s are often called snake stones because of the spotted pattern to the stone.
