Page edges marbled andthe top edge is darkened.Paste downs and freeendpapers are marbled. Front pastedown contains an ‘ex libris’ bookplate – seephotos. Inscription to the reverse of the front free endpaper. Frontispiece ofSir F. Drake, Dampier, Lord Anson and Captain Cook opposite the title page.Title page contains a vignette and is lightly foxed.
