Here I have up for auction is a very scarce double hinged wooden box with 2 sharpening stones mounted on an internal/external hinge, one stone on one side of the plated frame and another stone on the other side of the frame. One appears to be a light colored finer washita oil stone and the other side has a courser stone mounted to the frame. The courser stone appears to not have been used as the oil stone shows light use and I mean light maybe one or two times. The underside of eac...h side has felt lining to protect the stones, the box is in excellent original condition showing beautiful wood grain finish, is solid with no problems. Overall condition is excellent to say the least. No label or maker mark that I could see anywhere. Just a beautiful boxed double set of sharpening stones mounted to a wonderful plated frame for reversing action. Box measures 8 1/8 inches long and 3 inches wide and 1 7/8 inches tall. Stones measure 7 inches long by 2 inches wide. Lucky winner to pay shipping costs. Will gladly combine shipping costs on multiple purchases. Please take a look at my other auction items for more collectible and fine user tools. Please contact me with any questions regarding this or any of my other auction items. Thanks for looking and good luck! On May-15-19 at 09:15:26 PDT, seller added the following information:I was just contacted regarding what this stone is and it apparently is a Norton Reversible Oil Stone system LIB27 (Lily White Washita and India Stones). It is marked but blotched on the side of the Lily White and the India is marked on the other side of the stone. I took both out to verify. The Lily white shows a superficial crack across the center of the stone but is fully in tact. I checked with a glass and looked at the sides but it did not show much of anything on the sides. I'm not sure what to make of it although it is in tact fully and the backside of the Lily White is very white in color. I have an image of the backside if you would need to look at it. The site would not allow any more images. I did add images of the marks on the stones though. If you need any more info regarding this stone system, please advise. Thank you for the interest!
