Covers:
The Bible (folio) comes bound in black half morocco with black cloth covered boards, spine in six compartments with raised bands, gilt titling to second compartment.
Front board is hanging by a thread and chances are will be detached in transit, rear joint very tender but board is firmly held, boards are rubbed and scuffed, shelf wear to the edges and corners which are chipped, spine is rubbed and scuffed and chipped on head & foot ends.
Inside:
Endpapers browned, brittle and chipped, some family history in ink.
Frontispiece with a light crease, spotting and repaired on verso with sellotape, chips and small tears to edges.
Several text pages are toned, scattered brown blemishes, foxing occasional spotting throughout the Bible.Title page to volume two with a 9 cm tear and some creasing, last page torn and repaired with sellotape on verso affecting the table page.
The engraved plates are all in very good condition with only minor brown blemishes or minor spotting and free from any tears, except for the very last plate in rear which has been repaired on verso with sellotape.The Bible contains a total of 96 leaves of black and white engraved plate.All pages are tightly held at the gutter.
The Bible measure 42 cm x 26 cm and weighs 7.090 kgs without packaging.
