Original Description:
For sale is an extraordinary piece of history: A "Plaque Made From Plank And Spike Removed From Hull Of U.S.S. Frigate Constellation Built In Balto. 1797". Features authentic Oak and Metal (Copper?) from the ship.
I believe these pieces are from the mid 1800s from a restoration. The front of the wood has been refined for display, but the back still has the original look. 
The most interesting part of this piece is that the metal spike is stamped with 3 letters "GNY", which w...as for "Gosport Navy Yard". Just adds even more history!
The entire plaque measures 15.5" in length and 4" tall. The metal spike measures 13" in length and 7/8" in diameter. 
Just an incredible piece of United States and US Navy History.
