This sale is of two books:Both these books are first editions, first print copies.Both books and dust jackets are in mint condition. Any apparent marks on my photos are refection on the glossy wrappers. There are no inscriptions or marks and the map at the back of The Silmarillion is perfect too. Both books are odour-free.
Research shows this copy of 'Silmarrillion' to be a proven 1st edition, with all 1st issu...epoints present: no full stop on Page 330, Line 4 after Feanor. Page 352, Line 39, ‘and’ in ‘Lord of the Waters and King of the Sea’ in italics. Page 121(facing), map with red ink titles tipped-in. Publication page is correct: ‘Printedby Billings & Sons’, (the more common second impression was printed byWilliam Clowes and Son.)
