Juliette is an erotic novel written as a companion to Nouvelle Justine, by the French aristocrat Marquis de Sade notorious for his deviant sexual behaviors, originally published in Paris 1797. While Justine, Juliette's sister, was a virtuous woman who consequently encountered nothing but despair and abuse, Juliette is an amoral nymphomaniac murderer who is successful and happy. Bibliography follows text, which provides a useful chronology of de Sade's literary works, political pam...phlets, posthumous publications, and unpublished manuscripts.
